Mercy

By his great mercy, he gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:3-5

Mercy was rescued on Good Friday, April 2010. Five members of the team went to the auction that day. Earlier in the week, during the team meeting everyone was asked to pray for clarity on which horse God wanted them to get, specifically what the horse would look like. They weren’t to discuss any details with each other, but were asked to write down the answers to their prayers. On the drive to Indiana each person shared what they heard from God. This is what He said – the horse was to be: a mare, a bay paint, brown and white in color, have large eyes, named Mercy, middle-aged,

pony size and have a crescent moon marking. The tag number would have a 3 and 5 and the horse would be wearing a red halter. And wouldn’t you know?!? In the kill pen was horse with all these characteristics. Mercy was purchased for $270.

He saved us not by works of righteousness but on the basis of his mercy….
